One On One Music Production Training Classes

Because audio and multimedia encompasses such a wide variety of disciplines, techniques and mediums, instructional rates vary depending on the level of knowledge and area of interest.

Our instruction in the field of music production for transfer of audio to mainstream commercial mediums have three categories:

BASIC & INTERMEDIATE

At USAUDIO YOU LEARN AT YOUR OWN PACE IN ONE ON ONE PRIVATE TUTORING SESSIONS.

The following text provides information regarding our special training class structured to meet the needs of the beginner.

(Intermediate and Professional training is also provided in our One-On-One tutorial environment, but requires that we provide you with our FREE class development session to structure your special curriculum.)

Basic Instruction, as the term implies covers the vast fundamentals of audio production.  A student at this beginner level would receive training in the following areas:

INTRODUCTION TO THE TOOLS & TRICKS OF THE TRADE

From within our One-On-One Tutorial Environment, these initial sessions will ensure that the student(s) will receive instruction geared towards providing the beginning pupil a basic understanding of the tools required to produce professional audio products.  This is accomplished by way of (first) a four hour introductory session which focuses on audio hardware and state of the art software industry standards and how the many tools used in computer-based digital audio production best interface with one another.

Further, the student will gain an understanding of the basics which will allow them to grasp the concepts required to use the aforementioned audio production tools in their most effective means of operation.

The first four hour starter session will cover:

·         Defining MIDI Vs. Audio Formats

·         Creating Waves & Loops via Steinberg's WaveLab Audio Editor

·         Cataloging & Saving Audio Files With Non-destructive Backups

·         Introduction To Steinberg's Computer Based Song Composition and Sequence Software

·         Creating Song Templates & Importing Audio Wave Files From Wave Editors Into Sequencers

·         Adding MIDI Tracks To Audio Track Sequences & Pre Mixing Same

·         Converting MIDI Tracks To Audio Tracks & Dumping The Resulting Audio Tracks To Two Track Stereo Audio Tracks

·         Introduction To WaveLab's Montage Audio Editor

·         Exporting Stereo Audio From Cubase To WaveLab For Conversion To Final CD ROM Formats

·         Burning Audio Product To CD "The Pro Way"

The next Four 3-hour Sessions will be actual pro-audio music production session wherein the student(s) will with my guidance create a complete and market ready musical composition. Copies of the professionally mixed and mastered product will be provided to the students on CD for copyright filings to insure the protection of their full Intellectual Property Rights (copyrights as well as publishing).  Our final one-hour session will cover copyright registration procedures.  Forms will be provided. 

These copyright issues are very important once we appreciate the following quote from Donald S. Passman’s Two-Thousand and Six Edition of ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE MUSIC BUSINESS (page 89). “ Most new artist/independent company funds are in the range of $25,000 to $100,00”.  This is for those very new to the industry and relate to small or independent labels.  Major Label fees to new artists or songwriters are much higher. 

Because facts are so important to have access to for anyone contemplating a career in the music industry, a list of authoritative and reliable music industry reference books will also be provided to the student(s) at the end of our final session along with extra personal copies of their finished product. 

USAudio's service fee which will cover all instruction as well as use of USAudio’s studio equipment, production and mastering time and services are a flat rate of $1,500.00.  Please also note that because of the amount of time that would need to be blocked out and set aside for the above outlined sessions; the total amount of the instruction fee is required at the time of scheduling.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:   With No Exceptions: Session time is calculated from the time the session was scheduled to start, not by the time you show up.  If you think you may be arriving more then 1/2 hour late for a scheduled session, it is your responsibility to call USAudio no later then 1 hr. before your scheduled session start time; otherwise time will be calculated as scheduled.
